Unlike most dental surgery sedationists, Dr Kerryn Wilson is a fully qualified Medical Anaesthetist. 

Dr Kerryn Wilson has been practicing as an anaesthetist across a range of specialties, at leading hospitals in northern Sydney for over 15 years. After graduating in Medicine from Sydney University, Dr Wilson decided to specialise in Anaesthesia at the Royal North Shore Hospital.

She expanded her knowledge by travelling extensively – firstly to Switzerland where she was given the opportunity to work on helicopter rescue and then to Canada, where she specialised in Paediatric Anaesthesia. 

In Sydney, as well as working in Westmead Children’s Hospital,  Dr Wilson has worked at many of the respected private hospitals on the North Shore, doing Plastics, Dental, ENT, Endoscopy and Orthopaedic surgeries. 

It wasn’t until Dr Wilson was approached to see how she could help with sedation within a dental surgery, that she realised how to combine her skills with a deeply compassionate nature.  Traditionally, anaesthetists do not manage sedation in dental surgeries, but Dr Wilson saw how she could help by putting patients’ minds at rest by providing her additional expertise and safety reassurance.
